I was blown away by these two powerful paragraphs this morning:
47. (David:) Don’t you want to be free from always feeling like no matter what you do, you can’t make it? Don’t you want to be able to fully accept the Lord’s plan for your life and be happy about it, instead of always wishing you could be better, do more, or have a more fun, important, or different place of service? Don’t you want to be free to enjoy what you already have without your happiness being tainted by wanting more? Don’t you want to follow the Lord’s plan?
48. I know you do, so you’re going to have to give up all this negativity once and for all, and slam the door in the Devil’s face every time he tries to bring it back into your life. You have to really come to grips with the fact that negativity is pride, and pride is evil. Humility is accepting the way the Lord has made you—everything from your looks to your personality, talents, ministry, spirituality, and all the rest.
-From Positively Positive, Pt. 4
So, wishing I could be better is pride and pride is evil! Amen? 😛
